Gold Coast Urban Design Awards 2020 – Call for entries

Entries for the Gold Coast Urban Design Awards 2020 are now open.

Now in its 21st year, this triennial event celebrates the best of our built environment and has grown in prominence where it has become a prestigious platform of recognition for design, liveability and sustainability.

The built environment of the Gold Coast is rapidly changing and growing as our population increases. As our cityscape and skyline evolve to accommodate population increase and changing demographics, Council is committed to upholding quality design principles in conjunction with our goal of protecting and enhancing our magnificent natural environment.

All commercial, public and community projects, from schools and streetscapes to high rise buildings are eligible. Previous winners include Gold Coast Light Rail, Capri on Via Roma, and Chinatown.

The entries will be judged by an eminent selection panel from the fields of architecture, planning, landscape architecture, and construction, and will be headed by renowned architect, Dr Michael Lavery, Director, m3architecture and President of the Queensland Chapter.

Entries close 3pm Friday 21 August 2020.

Design professionals are encouraged to enter the awards for built and unbuilt projects, which celebrate the best of the city’s built environment and recognise design excellence in public and private projects.
