Entries are open for the 2023 Chapter Architecture Awards. Please refer to the key dates on the website for the closing date in your Chapter.
There have been changes made to the Sustainability requirements for the 2023 Chapter Architecture Awards.
Australian architects have in many cases been international leaders in designing responsive, responsible, and delightful works of architecture that ‘do more with less’. The Sustainable Architecture category is intended to support, encourage and celebrate this significant contribution.
The category also aims to recognise integrated design thinking not only for individual works of architecture, but also in the broader ecological context. In 2023, all members MUST complete a Sustainability checklist for consideration into the 2023 National Architecture Awards. Members who successfully complete the checklist will be considered for both the Primary award (eg. Public Architecture) as well as the Sustainable Architecture category award*.

It’s important to note however that a failure to meet the eligibility criteria for the Sustainability Award will not prohibit your entry from being considered within your nominated primary category.
Nomination for the Sustainability Architecture Award will include a successfully completed checklist whereby a minimum number of questions are marked as ‘yes’ in conjunction with your supporting information
The jury considers entries in terms of the value that the project has generated in each of the environmental, social and economic domains, on the basis of descriptions submitted as part of the entry process.
*As of 2023, this category is no longer eligible for self-nomination.
