Yuggera
Queensland
Brisbane
York is a seven-storey multi-residential building located in the historic quarter of New Farm, an area defined by its finely crafted Art Deco apartment buildings. Designed by bureau^proberts for Graya, York contributes respectfully to this context by drawing on the principles of the Art Deco period, reinterpreted through a contemporary architectural language suited to Brisbane’s subtropical climate and lifestyle. Art Deco inspired geometries, vertical emphasis, and corbelled concrete forms establish a strong street presence and create a corner landmark along Bowen Terrace. Rich detailing in glass, metal, and concrete is softened by layered planting, grounding the building in its context while maintaining a confident contemporary expression. York comprises five whole-floor apartments within a compact footprint, prioritising privacy, spatial clarity, and generous living. Expansive balconies, multiple outlooks, abundant daylight, and cross-ventilation support a refined residential experience that balances luxury with restraint and responds sensitively to place, climate, and inner-city living.
York embraces the Queensland lifestyle through open, light-filled spaces and strong indoor – outdoor connections that suit the way residents live today, while sitting comfortably within the historic character and scale of New Farm.
