Monarch Residences is shaped by its natural and cultural context, reconnecting the Brisbane River with the heritage fig trees along Coronation Drive. After sitting vacant for over fifteen years, the site’s transformation has been strongly supported by the community and delivers significant public benefits, including landscaped open spaces, public art, improved connectivity, and an extension of the Bicentennial Bikeway.Â
The two sculpted residential towers are arranged around the historic Middenbury House (1865), with their curved forms informed by the river’s natural geometry and scaled to create a village-like composition. The towers are positioned to maximise river and city views while reducing western sun exposure. Veiled façades of fine steel rods reference the riverbank and Brisbane verandahs, while interiors feature a refined palette of porcelain, stone, and timber. Pedestrian paths weave through the site beneath the fig tree canopy, creating a revitalised riverfront destination that celebrates heritage, landscape, and community life.
Monarch Residences’ design enhances everyday living by seamlessly connecting architecture, landscape and lifestyle. Guided by strong architectural principles, the design responds directly to its rare riverfront setting, elevating the resident experience each day. Thoughtfully planned apartment layouts maximise natural light and outlooks, creating comfortable, home-like residences suited to Brisbane living.
Generous balconies, articulated façades and a carefully considered masterplan provide a strong connection to the Brisbane River and surrounding landscape. World-class amenities—including a rooftop pool, private dining, lounge and wellness spaces—extend daily living into refined shared environments, enhancing comfort, convenience, and long-term liveability.
