The building at 72 Brisbane Street, Hobart is an Adaptive Re-use of a 1946 "Modernist" structure built over two 19th century sandstone buildings. The 1946 architect was Lauriston Crisp (1894-1964), made famous for his 1928 house that won a national award.
The building is listed as significant in the City of Hobart Planning Scheme.
It was built as a tyre factory, then a home for Watson's Wireless and lastly Wagner Framers.
This recycling provides a loft apartment for Allanah Dropson and Garry Forward and maintains the original streetscape presence.
