House Kimberley is conceived as a dwelling that grows from the ground, stepping with the natural slope so that it feels less like an object placed upon the land and more like a quiet continuation of it. Composed as a sequence of pavilions, the house is revealed gradually through shifting perspectives, fragments of verandah, brick and shadow, its presence modest and recessive among the gum trees. Material choices of recycled brick, dark cladding and silvery timber are deliberately restrained, allowing the building to harmonise with the existing landscape.
The plan unfolds around a courtyard, with pavilions that open and close in rhythm with the seasons. Movement through the house is always accompanied by light and air, turning daily life into a series of atmospheric encounters. Both sanctuary and gathering place, House Kimberley is architecture of stillness and restraint, a home that settles into the landscape, inviting nature in.
