Hanslope House reimagines suburban living on a rare double-corner site, balancing openness, privacy, and everyday experience. Two pavilions are linked by a central garden spine, creating a sequence of courtyards that guide movement and mediate light, program, and privacy. Inside, living spaces flow seamlessly to gardens, while material choices like recycled brick and terracotta roofing reference the context and support both environmental and economical sustainability. The result is a generous, grounded home that engages both its occupants and the surrounding street.
Our old house looked right on paper, but as our children grew and work came home, we outgrew it in ways square metres couldn't fix.
This home gave us something unexpected: the space between things. Glass walls let us watch the kids at the pool while enjoying our own conversation, we can work work without interrupting family life and beautiful light fills every room without the glare—a testament to thoughtful and considered design.
I feel like I'm holidaying at home. Whether hosting Christmas for 40 or quietly reading in our beautiful courtyard, this is what great design gave our family.
