DASH Architects were appointed to Barossa Council as Lead Professional Services Contractor to deliver a vastly improved sporting precinct in Lyndoch providing increased sports and leisure amenity for a rapidly growing region of the Barossa Valley. The growth in the programme and budget during initial design saw the project become a major asset with delivery assisted by the Department of Premier and Cabinet. Time was of the essence in the delivery of the project, as deadlines involving AFL fixtures were immovable. The fast tracking of the project meant an overlapped design and building delivery, with the DASH team operating in all consulting phases simultaneously to achieve a timeline of 10 months construction. The resulting project is a once in a generation improvement to facilities in the Barossa Valley that enables local, regional, state and even national level competition for Football, Cricket, Netball and Tennis to take place in one venue.
Barossa Park reflects a shared vision between The Barossa Council and the State Government to create a landmark precinct that strengthens community connection and regional identity. This joint initiative transformed Lyndoch Recreation Park into a multi-use destination in the heart of the world-renowned Barossa wine region. As the region’s premier hub for sport and recreation, Barossa Park provides a home for local clubs while creating a welcoming place for the wider community to enjoy. With modern facilities, landscaped open spaces and year-round activation, Barossa Park enhances daily recreation while broadening the Barossa’s appeal as a tourism destination.
