The Conference is our flagship event. In 2027, the Conference will be held on the Gold Coast from Friday 12 to Saturday 13 November and is expected to be attended by over 1,000 delegates from across Australia. The two-day program is an engaging forum for discussion, learning and networking, and will feature emerging and eminent architects from Australia and abroad.  

Positions Available  

There are 7 committee positions to be filled.

Scope 

 The Steering Committee is chaired by the CEO and works in close collaboration with the Institute’s Conference, Education and Partnerships teams, providing input on:  

• Local and international keynote speakers.  

• Key topics, themes, and content partnerships.  

• Fringe activities and allied programs. 

Eligibility and Skills Required  
Applicants should: 

• Be a member of the Institute in good standing.   

• Have a strong national and international networks. 

• Demonstrate contemporary knowledge of architectural practice and discourse 

• Have experience in curating, programming, or facilitating events for the architectural community     

Commitment  

Communications will be predominately via email and Teams. The tenure of all committee members will be one year. The committee will meet monthly from July 2026 to October 2027.  The Steering Committee 2027 kick off meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 29 July.  

Obligations  

Committee members must fulfil their roles in an accountable, professional, and expedient manner.
