I hope 2022 finds all our members and their families safe and well. Whilst welcoming the new year, I want to reiterate our team’s commitment to assisting you and your practices, as you face both the challenges and opportunities of the year ahead.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the Tasmanian Chapter Councillors, who steer the work of the Chapter, and I would like to thank them all for the important work they do on your behalf. I specifically would like to thank members for their nominations to the positions on Tasmanian Chapter Council and congratulate Stuart Tanner on his position of president. Stuart is joined by incoming Chapter Councillors Kate Symons, Gaetano Palmese, Lucy Burke-Smith, Megan Baynes, and Aaron Lougoon, who is the EmAGN co-chair (and is joining Kat Vand as she continues in the co-chairing role). All have a great passion for architecture and the work of the Tasmanian Chapter and I am delighted to be working with them all. I would also like to sincerely thank outgoing Chapter Councillors Paul Wakelam, Pippa Jensen and Jacob Tripp, who was one of our UTAS SONA representatives (we are very pleased that Nuri Mohamad will continue in her role of UTAS SONA representative this year). Your dedication to the profession has been commendable and we will miss your contributions greatly.
I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you all to enter your work into the Institute’s awards program, which closes next Tuesday. This program gives the Institute the opportunity to showcase your work to a broader audience as well as taking part in the peer review process.
I also want you all to know if you have issues or challenges you want to discuss that I am always available. Feel free to email me on jennifer.nichols@architecture.com.au or call me on 0409 216 526.
Wishing you all prosperous and happy 2022.
