The new administration and learning building for St Martin’s Catholic Primary School features new administration facilities, reception, staff room, staff amenities, offices, meeting rooms on the ground floor and five General Learning Areas (GLAs) on the first floor. Additionally there’s a first floor link from the new administration building to the Junior Primary Building (completed by Detail Studio in 2019).
The sky, the earth and the trees set the colour palette for the building internally and externally, with the desire to evoke a connection to nature and create a sense of fun and play.
This building reflects the consultation, explorations and aspirations of the St Martin’s community to continue the trajectory towards 21st century learning models that enables collaboration and inquiry based learning opportunities for their students.
The new Mackillop Building allows the St Martin’s community to enter a welcoming, spacious Reception area. The offices of Administration and Leadership Staff are nearby so they can easily be called to meet parents and visitors in either the meeting room or Boardroom.
Two staircases allow easy access to the first floor where 5 beautiful learning spaces, an amphitheatre and shared space are used by senior students-spaces designed with senior students in mind. All who work and learning in this building feel they have been provided with spaces that meet their needs and motivate them to be their best.Client perspective
