Webber Architects has delivered the redevelopment of the Forster Surf Life Saving Club, transforming an ageing facility into a vibrant, multi-purpose hub for lifesaving, community, and cultural activity. Positioned prominently on Forster Main Beach, the new building provides state-of-the-art facilities for volunteer lifesavers, including secure equipment storage, first aid, and modern amenities at beach level.
Above, a spacious community hall, commercial kitchen, and expansive ocean-facing terrace provide a civic space that celebrates the coastline while supporting events, education, and recreation. The design embraces the beachfront setting with durable concrete, marine-grade cladding, and glass balustrades that maximise views while withstanding the harsh coastal environment.
Sustainability is central, with passive ventilation, energy-efficient lighting, and robust low-maintenance finishes ensuring longevity. The result is a landmark facility that enhances safety, inclusivity, and community identity, delivering long-term social and cultural value for Forster and the wider Mid North Coast region.
