Media summary

CHAC Administration and Wellness Centre is a contemporary three-storey facility that redefines the civic and pastoral heart of Cannon Hill Anglican College. Conceived as a place where leadership, care and community intersect, the building is a homes for the administration team.

The architectural response balances clarity and warmth, pairing a refined material palette of brick, metal and glazing with generous daylight, intuitive planning and calm internal environments. Curved brick forms, arched openings and screened façades establish a strong yet sympathetic presence within the campus, bridging traditional character with a modern identity.

Internally, the building brings together reception, offices, counselling and support spaces in a highly efficient and legible layout that supports both operational performance and user comfort. Delivered through close collaboration with consultants and builder, the project demonstrates strong value, durability and long-term adaptability. More than an administrative building, it is a nurturing campus landmark.

A key driver in the redevelopment was to bring the majority of our teaching and administrative staff into one space to enhance collaboration and collegiality.  Previously many of the faculties and support services operated from satellite spaces creating a fragmented operation.

The building design has gone a long way to solving this problem.  A welcoming entry-level is the interface between our students and the pastoral support team, the middle-level provides a light, airy open-plan space for our teaching staff giving greater opportunity for cross-faculty collaboration and the staff social space on the upper-level allows all staff to enjoy breaks together.
