Kelvedon Park by AKA architects was voted as the public’s favourite project entered in the 2021 Tasmanian Architecture Awards.
The project provides new clubrooms and associated facilities for the Taroona Football Club at Kelvedon Park, while providing a connection between the playing field and the River Derwent.
‘The only way we can truly make our built environment better for everyone, is by ensuring that we all understand the value of architecture and how it contributes to our broader public realm. The People’s Choice harnesses the opinions of the public and allows them to engage with architecture,’ says Australian Institute of Architects Tasmanian Chapter Executive Director, Jennifer Nichols.
‘Architects have the ability to work across many scales and types of projects and bring value to projects both large and small.’
The public were invited to have their say and vote for their favourite project entered in the 2021 Tasmanian Architecture Awards, with 21 projects from across the state in the running.
Killora Bay, by Lara Maeseele in association with Tanner Architects, and Floating Sauna Derby, by Licht Architecture, also received a large number of votes.
Almost 1000 votes were receive in this year’s People’s Choice and we thank you all for helping to share the projects entered in this year’s awards program.
The winning voters are as follows:
First Prize: Anabel Shearing has won herself a ZipWater HydroTap G5 BCS Classic Plus Chrome.
Second Prize: Erinn Ollington will take home a paint voucher from Dulux.
Third Prize: Killian Peddell is the recipient of a pair of Blundstone boots.
Fourth Prize: Sharon Davey will enjoy a Waverley Mills merino throw.
