About EmAGN

 

Who we are

The Emerging Architects and Graduate Network (EmAGN) is a membership demographic of the Australian Institute of Architects.

EmAGN represents Australian Institute of Architects members who are within 15 years of graduating with an accredited qualification in Architecture (Master of Architecture or equivalent).

 

Our vision

An engaged and supportive community of emerging architects and graduates. We aim to champion good architecture for the benefit of all.

 

Our purpose

To Advocate for the interests of emerging architectural professionals, support their professional development and engage with local communities.

 

EmAGN SA Chapter

In 2026, the EmAGN SA Chapter committee is looking to appoint 8 new committee members to work alongside continuing members.

The EOI is open to all members of the Australian Institute of Architects within the EmAGN demographic.

Those with an interest in education, advocacy, and supporting parents in architecture are especially encouraged to apply as we will be looking to fulfil roles across these areas in 2026.

 

 

EOI Process – How to Apply

 

Submission Requirements

Please submit a one-page Expression of Interest letter that should address the following:

  • Tell us about yourself and why you are interested in joining the EmAGN committee.
  • What qualities make you suitable to join this committee? What is something unique you can bring?
  • Are there specific areas of advocacy you would like to focus on as part of the committee?
  • What prior involvement have you had with the AIA or similar organisations?
  • Please include your name, AIA membership number, and number of years since graduation. 

 

Role & Responsibilities

  • The term for committee members in one year, with the option to continue thereafter.
  • The term will commence in January 2026 and conclude in December 2026.
  • The committee will meet on the second Tuesday of each month. Committee members are encouraged to attend meetings in person held at the Australian Institute of Architects SA Chapter office, but attendance online is also optional.
  • Committee members are required to attend a minimum of 75% of meetings throughout the year.
  • In applying for this position, you agree that you will have the capacity to meet the commitments and obligations of this committee.
