TASMANIAN and International chapter ARCHITECTURE AWARDS HELD IN HOBART

 

The 2026 Tasmanian and International Chapter Architecture Awards were announced at a presentation event in Hobart on Saturday 30 June, curated by creative director Nicky Adams. 

Guests gathered at The Forest, UTAS, dressed in black and white for the 2026 Tasmanian & International Chapter Architecture Awards, where the Tasmanian and International Chapters came together for a night of celebration and recognition.

The evening began with Sarah Wilcox, the Manager of the Aboriginal Land Council of Tasmania, providing an insightful and though-provoking Welcome to Country beneath the forested dome Рoriginally designed by Robert Morris-Nunn and now repurposed to be a space of learning by Woods Bagot. Guests were then given the opportunity to don hand crafted Tasmanian native boutonni̬res/corsages by Lucy Bleach and enjoy various canap̩s and refreshments in the atrium before guests moved into the terraced amphitheatre for the awards presentation. In a rare alignment of the two Chapters, the ceremony recognised projects from across Tasmania and beyond, celebrating excellence in architecture at both a local and international scale.

Following the presentation, attendees enjoyed a black-tie dinner throughout the terraced spaces of The Forest, reconnecting with colleagues, clients and friends while reflecting on the year’s outstanding projects. The evening concluded with a special live performance from musician Darren Hanlon, providing a fitting end to a memorable celebration of architecture and design.
