Overview

In this session on the case for Adaptive Re-use, John Bahoric from WGA will provide an overview of the compelling benefits of seeking to re-use our existing building stock over new construction, including why embodied carbon matters, and critical factors to consider in making the economic and environmental case for adaptive re-use. He will also present RMIT New Academic Street as an exemplar case study of adaptive re-use and suggest strategies for encouraging adaptive re-use as a fundamental strategy in addressing climate change.
