Generally, the Recipient should commence within the following calendar year of the Fellowship award, and be completed within 12 months of commencement unless exceptional circumstances apply eg serious illness or bereavement.

The Australian Institute of Architects may request modifications to the application. The application will form the basis of the agreement between the Recipient and the Australian Institute of Architects.

Prior to confirmation of the Fellowship, the person to whom it is provisionally awarded must agree in writing to comply with the Fellowship conditions.
If a Recipient wishes to vary the time frame for the Fellowship then this should be clearly identified at the time of application.

Recipients must show evidence of appropriate insurances prior to commencement of the Fellowship. Travel insurance must be in place prior to any travel being undertaken and Recipients must agree to keep abreast of any travel warnings provided via the Department of Foreign Affairs Travel Advisory site.

The Fellowship funds will be paid to the Recipient in instalments within a pre-determined timetable approved by the Selection Panel. Generally, 10% of the Fellowship funds will be withheld and will be paid upon acceptance of the Final Report and completion of the Fellowship.

The Recipient must submit a Final Report written in plain English, designed to engage a public audience, of 800 to 1,000 words about the Fellowship. At least 5 high-resolution images that represent critical aspects of the Fellowship must also be included. The Recipient must hold or obtain consents from authors of all materials included in the Final Report.

The Recipient retains any intellectual property in the creation of the Fellowship material.

Recipients will grant to the Australian Institute of Architects, without cost, a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free and transferable license to use, reproduce, and communicate to the public the outcomes, materials or images of the Recipient’s Fellowship, which may then be used to advertise further, support or in other ways publicize the Dunbar Fellowship for no financial benefit to either party.

Recipients will acknowledge the Fellowship in any relevant correspondence, public announcement, advertising, publication or other material relating to the Fellowship.

Recipients are not agents of the Australian Institute of Architects and are not acting on behalf of the Australian Institute of Architects and should not represent themselves as such.

The Award may be cancelled if the Recipient does not comply with the associated conditions of the Fellowship and will be asked to refund the money already distributed. The Australian Institute must approve any material changes to the Fellowship outcomes or time frames of Architects.

The Australian Institute of Architects may vary this Fellowship or any of the foregoing conditions when considering that circumstances justify such variation. The decision of the Australian Institute of Architects on the award of the Fellowship is final. The Australian Institute of Architects reserves the right to withhold the award of the Fellowship. The Australian Institute of Architects reserves the right to amend the number and value of the Fellowships.
