Victorian Chapter responds to appointment of Michelle McLean as Chief Commissioner at the Victorian Building Authority

The Australian Institute of Architects Victorian Chapter is very pleased with today’s announcement by the Victorian Government of the appointment of Michelle McLean as Chief Commissioner at the Victorian Building Authority.

Mr Bill Krotiris, the newly appointed Victorian Chapter President said,

“The Institute’s Victorian Chapter commends the Minister for Planning for the commitment to advance the VBA’s vision towards keeping the building industry safe. We look forward to instigating discussions with the new Chief Commissioner to align, where possible, with the Institute’s current advocacy measures for a better and safer building environment.”

Mr Krotiris also acknowledged the important oversight of the departing Chief Commissioner,

“We thank the outgoing Interim Chief Commissioner, Mr Justin Madden for his commitment to the role during 2020 particularly given the current altered and difficult circumstances in the building industry.”
