Last week we bid farewell to Chapter Councillor Carly McMahon as she heads to sunny Brisbane. During her time in Tasmania, Carly has contributed enormously to the Chapter through various roles, including EmAGN, the Education Committee, as part of the creative director team for the Architecture Awards and ‘A weekend away – Tasmanian architectural narratives,’ just to name a few! I will miss Carly’s thorough and considered contribution, and the way she isn’t afraid to raise her voice about issues she is passionate about. Tasmania’s loss is certainly Queensland’s gain, and I wish Carly all the best.
I would like to encourage everyone to join us this Friday at St. David’s Cathedral as we launch the 2019 Open House Hobart program. This event, which shares with the public the value of quality design in our built environment, just isn’t possible without the support of our architecture community. I am so thankful to all of you who have, and are, assisting with the program. Let’s continue to work together to show how important architecture is!
