SUMMARY:The Norwegian Scenic Routes | Jordan Silver
DESCRIPTION:Jordan Silver’s research is focused on the Norwegian Scenic Routes; a national roads\, tourism and culture program that’s been running for over 30 years. The program has delivered hundreds of small public architecture projects (rest stops\, lookouts\, pavilions) along Norway’s scenic roads to enhance regional and international tourism.  Jordan received a Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship from the NSW Architecture Registration Board to travel Norway\, visit the built projects and investigate the mechanics of the program. He interviewed the program founders\, government team and contributing architects to better understand the project’s sustained success.  Since returning\, Jordan has been engaging with NSW Government to develop a model for a similar initiative in regional NSW\, collaborating with GANSW\, Destination NSW\, TfNSW and the Department of Regional NSW.
