EmAGN Forum 2021

12 May 2021 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm AEST

The pandemic has been an instigator of change in all of our lives. With our city being spontaneously thrown into working from home conditions early in 2020… the industry proved its ability to continue to function, we have all lived through an example of flexible working. It has prompted us to reconsider the way in which we think about our physical attendance at an office, ways in which collaboration can occur remotely, and flexibly.

For some, this has been an issue long before COVID-19. Many of our cohort have manoeuvred working lives balancing side hustles, second jobs, passion projects, child care drop offs, school pick-ups, long distance commuting, remote workplaces, starting a business, accessibility issues, or even just trying to find a time to get to the post office during office hours.

In our first EmAGN Forum for 2021, we discuss your position and the scenarios surrounding Flexible Working Arrangements moving into a “post-COVID” world and beyond. We’ll be looking into the failures, the successes, and opportunities that have arisen from alternate pandemic working arrangements. And query how the architectural industry can seek to provide more flexibility moving forward.
