From the Tas Executive Director

I hope you are all well and keeping warm as we welcome the cooler weather that is upon us. I want to make members aware that the recent Tasmanian Police Request for Submission, Supply of Consultant Services, Architectural Services for the new Bridgewater Police Station was originally issued with the quantitative criterion for fees at 40% percent. After a really productive discussion with the government project team, an amendment has been issued to reduce this to 20%. I would like to thank the members who highlighted this and encourage all of you to come to us if you see particular challenges with government tenders. The Institute’s Guidelines – Expressions of interest and requests for tender for architectural services and other useful supporting documents can be found here

I would also like to encourage you all to watch the livestream of the 2022 Tasmanian Architecture Awards this Saturday at 7.30pm on the Institute’s YouTube channel, and I want to acknowledge the incredible work of our members that forms the program this year. On all accounts the standard is incredibly high and I wish you all the best on the night.
