Connecting built form to landscape, Windsor Park’s design is characterised by elegant forms, apertures and playful materiality that embrace the leafy surrounds. The concept is one of enduring design that is one with its environment.
The architectural form is interpreted as a series of smaller buildings separated by pockets of greenery. Vertical breaks along both street interfaces create shadow lines, changing the macro to micro for human-scale experience.
Sensitive landscaping to the neighbouring reserve evokes an urban escape, while a generous internal courtyard offers a sculptural, contemplative space for residents to enjoy, extending the park experience into the building.
Considered materiality adds a layer of richness and delight to the architecture, with the use of concrete offset by lightweight, metallic panelling. Careful apartment planning maximises opportunities for natural daylight, crossflow ventilation and dual-aspect amenity.
Windsor Park benefits both the way residents live, and the way locals enjoy the adjacent Reserve. The project is a thoughtful and high-quality residential building that balances internal amenities with a sensitivity to its neighbourhood.Â
For residents, Windsor Park provides homes that are well proportioned, connected to nature and will age gracefully. Residents enter through a ‘laneway’ and arrive at an open central courtyard providing fresh air, light and green aspect to all residents as they circulate through the building.Â
