Media summary

Tree House bridges a humble cottage and a grand poinciana, crafting a lifestyle within the treetops for a family of five. Rich textures, permeable thresholds and generous gathering spaces form the heart of this renovation and extension, which establishes a functional family home that truly optimises its site.

“KIN has done a brilliant job of designing an open plan space with enough areas to get away and have little areas to sit and read. We’ve actually found it’s bought our kids out of their bedrooms and created a lot more of a family house. The parent retreat is upstairs, and the view of waking up there every morning, and going to bed at night, with the moon and the stars, and looking through the canopy at the trees and the birds is brilliant. It’s a really special space.”
