The Gadigal people of the Eora Nation
NSW
This bold project not only preserves an essential piece of Sydney’s architectural history but enriches it – H&E’s design of the elevated Wentworth Bar is a respectful, transformative and functional refurbishment that furthers the heritage narrative of Sydney’s Wentworth Hotel.
Led by a striking architectural copper canopy – which works to the horseshoe-shape building line and original porte-cochere above Philip St – this design carefully balances the demands of contemporary hospitality with the responsibility of honouring and enhancing the building’s significant heritage fabric.
Put simply, the exceptional work of H&E allows us to fully realise the space (capacity 250 pax) and enable it to operate as an F&B offer regardless of conditions. It’s now an all-weather destination – a reprieve from the bustle below and that’s in no small part due to the clever design; one that works and adds to the building and which has captured our desires for Wentworth Bar to further elevate Accor’s design-led ambitions as a beacon of sophistication and a leafy oasis that not only attracts hotel guests but the wider CBD community.
