Media summary

Comprising a primary school, parish hall, and an elegant 29-storey residential tower with 158 independent living units and 132 residential aged-care beds, this integrated independent living and aged-care project establishes a community precinct neighbouring an existing heritage Catholic church, Our Lady Help of Christians.

This innovative integrated living model for senior members of the Epping community allows people to “age-in-place” and deepens connections between the community, church and parish as well as the local children at the onsite primary school.

The design respects the site's topography and the church's scale, while deepening the church’s connection to the Epping community. Generous pathways and a landscaped courtyard link new and old.

The school building has an effortless and contemporary presence, with light-filled spaces for learning. The 200-seat parish hall reflects masonry materials used in the original Church building. The modern residential tower floorplates are formed to maximise sun access to the Church.

The Cambridge’s design enhances daily living by integrating independent retirement residences, wellbeing services and aged care within a single vertical village. Its proximity to transport supports effortless mobility, while generous communal spaces, including dining and recreational facilities, encourage social connection and active engagement. The combination of high-quality amenities, security and onsite support enables residents to live confidently, with the freedom to age‑in‑place as their needs evolve. By transforming a former school site into an intergenerational precinct, The Cambridge fosters continuity, familiarity and a strong sense of belonging. Its thoughtful architecture delivers light‑filled homes, elevating comfort, privacy and everyday wellbeing beautifully.
