Western Australia
SPH architecture + interiors is proud to deliver Western Australia’s first purpose-built dental clinic, designed specifically to support individuals of all ages with disabilities.Â
The building employs thoughtful design features to enhance comfort, accessibility, and wellbeing. The materiality palette focuses on tactility and natural finishes. Multiple options for waiting support the diverse needs of the users. Public artwork is meaningfully embeddedÂ
The building sits as a pavilion in the landscape, its low-slung form shaped by both functional requirements and contextual sensitivity. A timber batten screen wraps the structure, echoing the verticality of surrounding bushland and native vegetation.Â
The entry verandah opens onto a green zone with mature trees and open lawn, creating a shaded external waiting space. A visual connection to nature is maintained throughout. This project demonstrates how architecture can respond to complex needs with empathy, clarity, and respect for place.
