Queensland
Gold Coast and Northern Rivers
Sitting on the beachfront at Palm Beach, Riviera is a minimalistic home combining the beauty of concrete and soft natural timber. From the initial interactions with the calming home, a scene of stillness is set. Formed by the coming together of concrete planes, a timber lined curving wall hints at an internal warmth, while also steering guests through to the centre of the home.
As a home of two contrasting sides, its street face is private and concealing, yet once inside, the home and its openness becomes fully exposed to the elements through behind a veil of moveable glazing. As a celebration of an elevated Queenslander lifestyle, the alignment with the rolling ocean in front provides both a seascape and a backdrop for the everyday motions of the home.
“We wanted something magical – a forever home that our kids could grow up by watching the ocean waves roll in”.
