In one of Chippendale’s finest warehouses, Richards Stanisich have undertaken a restoration and renovation for one of Australia’s most iconic fashion labels. The building required significant upgrades to ensure it met the standards required of a contemporary commercial building including equitable access, a new lift and fire isolated spaces . Over three levels, Oroton operates within the structure of a historic warehouse. Our design celebrates the building’s history in the rag-trade district of Chippendale and the spirit of a classic fashion atelier.
This space is a true reflection of our brand there is history to the building, those details have been honoured, beautifully restored and brought to the fore, and then there is modernity and lightness, which brings with it a feeling of great creative freedom. We have three open levels including a mezzanine, everyone can move freely, which creates an energy and dynamism amongst the team. That combination of heritage, clean design and community captures where we are at today. It’s an exciting place to walk into and it feels full of possibility. Sophie Holt, Oroton Creative Director
