Knight Frank’s decision to establish a new workplace within their existing building is framed as an act of reinvestment in place. Cox’s progressive response to the brief unlocked the potential of an existing asset, crafting a low-cost, high impact fit-out to meet modern needs and a powerful leasing exemplar within the building.Â
Conceived as a workplace-as-marketplace, the design supports Knight Frank’s role as an incubator for exchange. Spatially structured as a series of buildings within a building, establishing clear yet permeable zones for focus and connection, prioritising places of gathering that act as the social glue that strengthens relationships.Â
A restrained material strategy treats the building as an active component of the fitout, exposing ceilings to amplify scale, colour to unify spaces and a light-touch overlay that quietly expresses civic life. This was strengthened by the welcomed voices of artists that deepened the sense of belonging and significance of place.
