How do you design a post-covid workplace for a client that will be at the forefront of climate change impacts? That was our starting point in 2021 when COX began the design of IAG’s Melbourne workplace. The answers were surprisingly simple: People and Integrity were fundamental to IAG’s culture and therefore also to the project.
Conceptually, the ‘Marketplace’ is key to putting people-focused spaces at the centre of the project. Shifting away from formal Front of House spaces, the Marketplace provides a dynamic amenity shared between staff and visitors.
IAG’s progressive approach to workplace densities and a shift towards agile working, lead to a diversity of alternative and collaborative work settings. Future flexible, hackable and adaptable spaces can be modified according to team or organisational needs. The design response is playful, gentle and fun. It’s a space that encourages people back into the workplace through lightness and positivity.
IAG’s new offices are pivotal to improved workplace experience and productivity. They are flagships of our portfolio. The offices support hybrid working, enable increased collaboration, talent attraction, drive connection and are catalyst for our cultural evolution. The design aligns with our Group People Strategy and IAG Way of Working embracing flexibility and celebrating inclusion. Flexible design enables hackability allowing offices to adapt as our organisation continues to evolve. Reduction of footprint leads to every sqm becoming a purposeful destination and through diversity of space encourages our people to reimagine today whilst leading the way in Workplace Accessibility and Sustainability.
