DKO’s design for the EST Lighting and Surface Gallery showroom in Newstead, Brisbane, breaks away from the usual retail formula. This isn’t just about putting products on display. It’s about creating an experience that feels immersive and memorable. A space where two brands come together and complement each other. Visitors traverse a carefully choreographed spatial journey, from a compressed threshold into expansive curated zones guided by scent, sight, and tactility.
EST Lighting and Surface Gallery each get their moment, but it’s the interplay between them that stands out. Warm pendants shine over bold stone. Ambient lights highlight textures and tones, and as you move through the space, lighting shifts the mood, adding layers to the experience.
This project exemplifies how considered design transforms products into an experience – a stage where materiality and illumination unite to evoke connection, provoke curiosity, and celebrate two design worlds.
