Media summary

The Eagle Point Foreshore Hub is a multi-purpose community facility on Lake King in East Gippsland. It includes a new foreshore landscape, playground, event space and a community building including a reception for the Eagle Point Caravan Park, café, public toilets and community hall. The project creates a focal point for the local community and visitors. The building and surrounding landscape design were established through close engagement with the local community, and a careful study of the existing architectural and landscape types within the surrounding area, providing a new insertion sympathetic to its context.
The project integrates sustainable initiatives, including solar energy generation and storage, water-sensitive landscaping, regenerative planting and erosion management in the surrounding landscape. By consolidating essential facilities into a single, efficient footprint, the project minimizes resource use while maximizing public benefit. The Eagle Point Foreshore Hub enhances community infrastructure and strengthens the site’s environmental and social resilience.
