Bogong Multi Deck Carpark | Katz Architecture

Bogong Multi-Deck Car Park transforms essential infrastructure into a vibrant commercially driven urban asset at the gateway to Glen Waverley’s Activity Precinct. Doubling parking capacity from approximately 500 to over 1,000 free spaces, the development improves access and supports increased visitation to Kingsway’s retail, entertainment, and hospitality offerings. A glazed circulation core enhances visibility, daylight, and wayfinding, improving visitor experience and safety. At night, a dynamic DMX lighting system activates the streetscape and connecting laneway, strengthening the precinct’s identity and supporting the night-time economy. Strong sustainability responses included a saving of 703 tonnes of carbon through the retention of the existing 4 level building, with a large solar roof providing excess energy beyond the buildings own needs. Delivered by the City of Monash in partnership with Katz Architecture and a multidisciplinary consultant team, the project demonstrates how commercial infrastructure can generate long-term value while contributing positively to the public realm.
