Bogong Multi Deck Carpark | Katz Architecture

Bogong Multi-Deck Car Park repositions transport infrastructure as a city-shaping urban intervention at the gateway to Kingsway in Glen Waverley’s Activity Precinct. Conceived as part of the broader public realm rather than a standalone building, the project strengthens precinct legibility, access, and identity. Doubling parking capacity from approximately 500 to over 1,000 free spaces, it supports increased visitation and activity while improving connections to Kingsway’s retail, entertainment, and community destinations. A concertina façade and integrated DMX lighting system animate the streetscape at night, enhancing safety, wayfinding, and the quality of the public domain. Acting as a civic marker, the car park establishes a recognisable gateway and supports the precinct’s night-time economy. Delivered by the City of Monash in partnership with Katz Architecture and a multidisciplinary consultant team, the project demonstrates how functional infrastructure can contribute to long-term urban transformation and meaningful public outcomes.
