Baranduda Fields’ striking soccer pavilion anchors the largest regional sporting complex between Sydney and Melbourne. Nestled between two NPL-standard turf fields within a 100-hectare site, the pavilion delivers inclusive infrastructure responding to regional growth in women’s and girls’ sport while removing systemic barriers to participation. Â
Designed through extensive consultation with sporting associations and community groups, the two-storey facility features a 700-seat, dual-facing covered grandstand, gender-neutral change rooms, flexible community spaces with commercial kitchen, and VIP/media boxes. Its curvaceous brick and blackbutt timber form emerges naturally from the landscape, evoking the nearby Murray River's Victorian High Country context.
The design response celebrates the site’s ecological and cultural context while establishing a civic landmark for Albury-Wodonga’s growing sports precinct.
The Baranduda Fields Sporting Complex Pavilion is a critical community asset that supports sport, health and social connection in Wodonga.Â
The facility provides quality amenities for players, volunteers and spectators, enabling participation across all ages and abilities.
Beyond sport, the pavilion acts as a community hub, bringing families and residents together and strengthening local connections. It supports inclusive and accessible participation, gender-equitable facilities and the work of local sporting clubs and volunteers.Â
By encouraging active lifestyles and hosting community events, the pavilion contributes to community wellbeing, local vibrancy and a strong sense of belonging across Wodonga.
