The design of the new workplace for the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is underpinned by their core values of professionalism, collaboration, dedication, and accountability, creating a functional, pragmatic, and welcoming space that showcases AMSA and its people.
Making use of an existing stair and atrium, the townhall space anchors the internal planning, strategically positioned to create a dynamic entry experience for AMSA staff and visitors that unifies business and social functions.
The design provides a variety of flexible spaces to work and connect, supporting meaningful collaboration between teams and stakeholders both virtually and in person, and providing the tools teams need to perform at their best. The spatial planning maximises access to natural light by arranging much of the built program around the building core with strategically placed rooms providing form to the internal landscape.
The new AMSA Workplace has significantly improved the way our business operates. Our new space has consolidated our business into two connected floors, reducing operational and social siloes, increasing connection to regional teams and provides a flexible environment that perfectly suits our needs now whilst allowing for change into the future. The design has also improved staff wellbeing and satisfaction by providing a variety of spaces that promote wellbeing and healthy social interaction in a beautifully designed setting.
