Timothy Hill and Brian Donovan established Donovan Hill in 1992. With bold and sensitive projects that respond to site, situation and settlement, they have created projects of diverse scales and uses. Their projects re-inscribe the site, re-establish connections to place, and are often built as though they have grown up from the ground. While understanding the reality of the construction process, Donovan Hill place great importance on collaboration, civility and idealism, as they attempt to engage with the senses and imagination of their buildings’ users. Their projects include the HH House (1991-93), the C House (1995-98), the Q House (1996-97), the Neville Bonner Office Building (1998), and the Queensland College of Art (2001). They have recently completed the Domain Housing project on North Stradbroke Island, Queensland; and currently have the QUT Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation Building, and the Brisbane Millennium Library projects under construction.
