Opening Night

ZINC, Federation Square
Thursday 30 April 8.00pm – 10.00pm

Start your conference experience with an enjoyable evening at ZINC.  Within this stunning location, you will be able to meet and talk with conference presenters, fellow architects, media and industry professionals.

Tickets to the opening party will be limited, and are an additional cost.

Parallaxed

ZINC, Federation Square
Friday 1 May 7.30pm onwards

Parallaxed will feature young and emerging architecture practices as presenters, with Michael Banney and Ben Vielle (m3architecture)), Callum Fraser (Elenberg Fraser) and Marcus Trimble (Super Colossal) confirmed. The critics list currently includes Veronika Valk, Geoff Manaugh, Aaron Betsky, Peter Wilson and Slavoj Zizek, with Leon van Schaik AO as Chair.

Emerging Australian practices have been invited to discuss their work, beer in hand, in an informal setting with keynote speakers. These sessions will follow the spirit of the RMIT Graduate Research Conferences in which practitioners are invited to present their work and discuss it with peers and critics. The purpose is to search collectively for values and new directions rather than in the medieval tradition of the crit as a form of public humiliation. It is intended that the presentations are short and the discussion is long and extends to the floor towards the end.

Entry to Parallaxed is included in full conference registrations.
