Children and Architecture

"Architecture & Children" is a project of the Australian Institute of Architects that delivers information for primary and secondary schools on the human-made environment and it can include town plans, roads, buildings, sculpture, and even parks etc.

Most States have a local Architecture & Children Team that runs projects and programs, such as 'Architects in Schools'. The membership of these Teams includes teachers, architects, architectural students, education department and association representatives. For more information on your local activities contact the nearest Institute Chapter Office.

Your House teacher resource kit introdues the main issues affecting the built environment through studies of familiar surroundings - the home, the neighbourhood and the school. The kit is aimed at the key learning areas of science and technology, health and physical education and society and environment.
