Set to shine – Gold Coast and Northern Rivers Regional Architecture Awards

An impressive 23 entries have been submitted for the Australian Institute of Architects’ 2012 Gold Coast and Northern Rivers Regional Architecture Awards which will be announced this Friday night, 20 April 2012.

Houses, hotels and hospitals are among projects vying for top honours. Projects that receive a Regional Commendation at the awards qualify for the prized Queensland Architecture Awards to be held in June.

The 2012 Gold Coast and Northern Rivers jury consists of Leigh Shutter from Griffith University Gold Coast Campus; Scott Carpenter, Principal at Scott Carpenter Architect in Kingscliff; Matt Cooper, Principal at Aspect Architecture in Kingscliff; Darren Greenaway, Director at BDA Architecture in Broadbeach; Leah Lang, Principal at Leah Lang Architect; and Brian Mossop from the Gold Coast Bulletin.

Queensland State Awards 2012 Jury Director, Michael Rayner AM LFRAIA will present Regional Commendations, Building of the Year Award and the People’s Choice Award at a special ceremony at the Hilton Surfers Paradise, 6 Orchid Avenue, Surfers Paradise, commencing at 6:30pm this Friday 20 April.
