NSW Planning Review Coming to Newcastle Division

The NSW Government is re-writing the State’s main town and country planning law, known as the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act (EP&A Act) and are looking to get community feedback as they tour the State. The first stage of the review process is called ‘listening and scoping’ and allows individuals, interested community groups, local councils, property developers and anyone else who has an interest in the planning system to share their ideas and suggestions in open forums across NSW.
The panel will then produce an initial discussion paper of the forum feedback and recommendations about the principles to
be considered for the new planning system. The paper will be open for public comment from early December 2011 to mid-February 2012.

The review panel will be visiting our Division on the following dates:

Newcastle Session 1 - 17/10/2011
03:00 PM - 05:00 PM
Newcastle Panthers, Cnr King & Union Streets, Newcastle West

Newcastle Session 2 - 17/10/2011
06:00 PM - 07:30 PM
Newcastle Panthers. Cnr King & Union Streets, Newcastle West

Gosford Session 1 - 7/10/2011
03:00 PM- 05:00 PM

Gosford Session 2 - 7/10/2011
06:00 PM- 07:30 PM

The Newcastle Division Committee will have representation at the Newcastle sessions, should any members wish to join us. If any of the members attend the Gosford sessions, we would be appreciative of any feedback they have being sent to the Newcastle Division Office newcastle@architecture.com.au.
