Courtyard House - Circa Morris-Nunn Walker
Designed for a family who were in the process of moving to Tasmania, the house was conceived as a quiet family retreat that the family could grow into over the next 25 years. Located in a predominately rural landscape, the house is organised as series of pavilions that are linked by a glazed corridor. Each wing and associated courtyard responds to a distinct requirement of the program - family areas, children’s rooms, guest accommodation and parents retreat - and can be used independently of each other or as a whole. In this way the house provides a unifying structure and interdependence similar to that of a family. |
