Happy new year to all the members of the Newcastle Division.
The committee representatives and new manager have been working tirelessly to prepare an exciting and informative calendar of events for 2011. If your new year’s resolution was to focus on Continuing Professional Development, then stay tuned for further details on our events calendar which will be released shortly.
On-Line Registration
A new on-line booking registration procedure will be rolled out in order to streamline the process of registering for events and make life much easier for our members. For those that prefer the old way of registering, this option will still be available.

Wednesday 30 March 2011 - Refuel National Seminar Series “All the Way with Section J”
National Seminar Series kicks off in 2011 at the Travelodge Newcastle on the corner of King and Steel Streets Newcastle West from 6pm -8 pm with "Refuel-Refresh" dedicated to keeping you up to date with the most pertinent changes in regulations, standards and legislations that affect the architectural profession.
All the Way with Section J presented by Michael Shaw, a Senior ESD Engineer in the Melbourne office of Norman Disney and Young, will addresses key design considerations for architects arising from the latest changes to the BCA's Section J.

New Division Manager
Lia Ross has replaced Jane Hextell as the Newcastle Division Manager. Lia joins the Institute with extensive experience in events management. She also has a background in the Defence Force so you can expect the office to be running with military precision. If you are passing by King Street, please call in and say hello. The office is generally open from 9.30 am to 3 pm.
