Sophie will be on Maternity Leave for a few months, and Elsha Pye has kindly stepped in to work full time in the Finance & Administration Officer role until Sophie returns to work.

Can Hobart learn from Copenhagen’s experience?
Rita Justesen: Place Shaping and City Building. We are delighted that through the generous support of the Trade Commission of Denmark, Rita, who is an architect and Head of City Planning, Copenhagen, will present to members in Hobart on Friday August 21 at 12.30 pm. Please note this event will be held at Salamanca Inn, 10 Gladstone St Hobart. Please register early for this event, as it will also be promoted through PIA and AILA, and seating is limited. Registration Form

Following this event, the Chapter will be hosting a roundtable forum with Rita and key stakeholders in the Hobart waterfront, to share experiences in relation to waterfront development.

Awards Events
In July we held the opening of the Awards Exhibition at the Design Centre in Launceston and the State Library in Burnie. The Exhibition will be on show in Burnie until August 8. Thanks to ARTAS Architects for transporting the panels from Hobart to Launceston and Burnie, and for assisting with the set-up of the Exhibition in Burnie. There has been good media coverage in these regional centres with articles in the Examiner and the Advocate. Richard Crawford was also interviewed by ABC Northern Radio.
