2009 COUNTRY DIVISION AWARDS
There were a total of 45entries this year in the Country Division Awards across the seven categories:
- RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE - HOUSES NEW
- RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE - MULTIPLE HOUSING
- AFFORDABLE HOUSING (Under $300,000)
- RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE - ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS
- NON-RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE - NEW
- NON-RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE - ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS
In addition to the above categories there is The James Barnet Award for Architectural Excellence which is given to any project across all the categories which it is felt deserves such recognition. The entries were judged on Friday 21 August in Orange by the seminar presenters, Paul Pholeros and Keith Cottier with assistance by Philip Nobis (Jury Chair & Country Division Committee Member), John Drake (Conference Awards Presenter & Committee Member), Craig Teasdell (Deputy Awards Chair) and Alan Sisley from the Orange Regional Gallery. 2009 COUNTRY DIVISION ANNUAL CONFERENCE - BREAKFREE AANUKA BEACH RESORT, COFFS HARBOUR
6-10 OCTOBER 'Architecture - The Musical'
Once again, in 2009 our Creative Director Greg Addison, with some assistance by Kevin Debnam and Chris Jenkins, put together a terrific conference programme which easily covered the four competencies required for continuing professional development. We had a total of 83 registrants which is a record number of delegates. Together with their familes our meal times were packed to capacity and the weather was extremely kind to us and our days were sunny and warm. Click here for the programme.
2010 will be the 50th anniversary of the Country Division and the conference next year should be one that we don't want anyone to miss... Planning is already under way for a conference theme of 'THE MAGIC OF ARCHITECTURE'. Again it will be held at BreakFree Aanuka Beach Resort in Coffs Harbour from Tuesday 5 - Saturday 9 October.
