Introduction

The Bluescope Steel Glenn Murcutt Student Prize was established in 2005 to recognise outstanding architectural student work which demonstrates excellence in response to place, technology and Australian culture.

The prize is presented every second year, at the Australian Achievement in Architecture Awards (AAAA).

As a result, there has been a change in the prize timeline, meaning the Institute will again run the prize this year, with entries currently now open and closing on November 21. The winner will be announced at the Australian Achievement in Architecture awards in March 2013. Prize-winning and short-listed designs are exhibited on the Australian Institute of Architects and SONA websites.

The Australian Institute of Architects acknowledges the generous support of Bluescope Steel as sponsor of the prize and Glenn Murcutt as patron.
