Introduction

The Bluescope Steel Glenn Murcutt Student Prize was established in 2005 to recognise outstanding architectural student work which demonstrates excellence in response to place, technology and Australian culture.

The prize is presented every second year, however the 2009 prize announcement was moved from being presented at the National Architectural Awards to the more people focussed event, The Australian Achievement in Architecture Awards.

As a result, there has been a change in the prize timeline, meaning the Institute will again run the prize this year, with entries opening in July 2010. The winner will be announced at the Australian Achievement in Architecture awards in March 2011.

Prize winning and short listed designs are exhibited on the Australian Institute of Architects and SONA websites.

The Australian Institute of Architects acknowledges the generous support of Bluescope Steel as sponsor of the prize and Glenn Murcutt as patron.
