RAIA office bearers appointed
The RAIA’s National Council met in Canberra last month, electing new office bearers unopposed. They are: President Elect Melinda Dodson (Daryl Jackson Alistair Swayn Architects, ACT), Honorary Secretary Rod Mollett (Silver Thomas Hanley, WA), Honorary Treasurer Andrew Vorrasi (studio nine, SA).

Both Andrew and Rod take office immediately, with Melinda instated at the AGM in Canberra on May 30, at which Howard Tanner takes office as National President. Nationally-elected Councillors are Melinda Dodson (incoming President Elect) and Professor Philip Goad (VIC).

New Archicentre research grant
Archicentre is offering a $20,000 research grant to a suitably qualified RAIA architects to prepare a comprehensive report on the ‘green’ industry in Australia.

The Archicentre Research Grants Program provides RAIA architects with the opportunity to make important contributions in the areas of architectural research and development in Australia and overseas. Closing date is Monday April 28.

International magazine opportunity
Italian sister publications, Abitare and Case da Abitare, are sourcing new projects with world renown from Australian architects.

Publishing on architecture and interior design, Arbitare and Case da Abitare are seeking project information for editorials. The magazines would hold first rights of publication; as such the magazines would commission the shoots independently. Projects they are interested in are:
Residential
Retail outlets
Hotels
Restaurants
Special buildings
Projects demonstrating interesting new concepts and design solutions.
